
Bowel Concerns
At Preston Pelvic Health we treat a variety of bowel conditions.
These conditions are often not talked about but they can really affect someones quality of life. Our experienced pelvic floor physios have many ways to help. If you are unsure which one of us to see, please give us a call. Some of the bowel conditions we treat are:
Inability to control wind
You either don’t know you are farting until its too late, or you have trouble holding a fart.
Faecal incontinence
You leak firm or soft poo, or you notice some poo on your underwear.
Constipation
You have to strain to go to the toilet, your poos might be hard too, or you could even get some soft leakage as well.
Faecal urgency (ie. rushing to the toilet)
You have to rush to the toilet when you get the urge to do a poo.
Poor defecation dynamics
You have difficulty having an easy bowel movement. You want to improve your technique.
Rectal prolapse
The internal rectum lowers down and can cause discomfort, difficulty keeping clean and can be quite embarrassing for people.
Anal fissures / haemorrhoids
You have anal fissures which are so painful or maybe recurring haemorroids. You want to find out what is making them worse and how to stop them occurring.
There are a variety of ways that we can assist with these conditions and many ways we can assess it depending on the gender of the client and the client preferences, we tailor our assessment to suit you while giving you a tailored treatment program to get these things back under your control.
